I mix 1 Tablespoon of Psyllium Husk with a luckwarm water so I could drink it fast before the fiber gets gelatinous, it gives me the gentle feeling of fullness, it reduces my appetite, and it reduces my interest in food in general, which was great for me!

I lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks so far, This is awesome! My stomach stopped asking me “What’s next?”, I eat my food wisely, No overeating and No cravings!

I really believe that this product is the natural organic choice to lose weight without suffering, without exposing your body to harmful chemicals, and without breaking the bank.

The only note I have to mention here as a con of this product that if you have difficulty in swallowing, it would be hard for you to sallow psyllium husk easily.

  1. Psyllium Husk seems like a product to be looked at carefully. Have read all the benefits and must say that I am impressed. On the minus side is the fact that it doesn’t look like the most tempting “food” to eat. Looks almost like Oats Porridge.
    Would one add honey or fruit to it possibly ? I see it absorbs moisture ? Can see how that would make one feel full and so not want to eat as much.

      Psyllium Husk is not like oats, it’s closer to flax seed, but much lighter, you can’t have it in a meal like oats with honey and fruits, on the other hand you can add some honey to the beverage you’re going to mix it with.

      It’s easier to drink it than to eat it, and as I said it gives you the gentle feeling of fullness.

  2. I used to use coffee as an appetite suppressant and it made weight loss so much easier for me. However I quit coffee and recently even caffeinated teas as I’m caffeine sensitive and coffee was a culprit for my digestive problems and adult acne. I’ve been increasing my intake of water but I don’t find it helps me from thinking about food. I like that this is natural and has no side effects. I just want to make sure, is this a stimulant?

  3. Very informative! Sometimes I get annoyed with my appetite and I honestly don’t know what to eat at times so this seems like a great meal replacement and I may shed a few pounds along the way 😉 I’ll definitely will be looking into this powder since it’s also organic (very important especially in this day and age).

    I have not heard of Psyllium Husk before, but being a natural, organic product to lose weight without suffering and without exposing your body to harmful chemicals, it seems to me as if it can become the product of choice for weight loss.

  5. Thanks for the valuable info! This product sounds like a good way to suppress my appetite (which is pretty substantial). Since you’re a nutritionist, what are your thoughts on the Ketosis diet?

      Thanks for your comments and your question.
      Regarding Ketosis diet, I really don’t recommend it except if applied for a short period of time, 1-2 weeks max, from its name, this diet puts the body in a ketosis state, when the body is no longer receiving the carbs needed for survival, and using fat instead, which leads to changes in the body chemistry, and might lead to some diseases on the long run.
      See this example, when you fill the fuel tank in your car with oil instead of gasoline, the car will lose it’s ability to function normally, and will get wrecked, and that how your body would respond to another kind of fuel instead of carbs (which is the main energy source to your body).

  6. I will definitely try this product, as it should do everything the whole grain psyllium I use now does, but seems to have better quality at a lower price. Also, I must go out of my way to get it now, and Amazon is much easier – I order from them at least weekly.

    I do suggest for you and your readers to use it differently than in water – it is much better in a green smoothie. I often fix smoothies with many healthy ingredients like spinach or kale, carrots, kiwifruit, lime, apple, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nuts and avocado – while I vary some of these ingredients from time to time, I always use a tablespoon of whole grain psyllium as the final dry ingredient before pouring in the raw honey and almond milk and turning on the blender. It is easy and it makes the smoothie creamier. Important to use a powerful blender and a large diameter milk-shake straw, and you should be all set. Have you tried psyllium in a smoothie, Rowan?

  7. I have started juicing recently and thinking of adding other ingredients besides fruits and veges. You’ve just given me the idea of using psyllium husk. This is definitely something that I can benefit from because the whole idea of juicing is so that I consume less processed food and carbs which both lead to weight gain.

Juicing great ingredients with the addition of high fiber content like Psyllium husk would give you the fullness you’re looking for to stop craving bad food, what I love about psyllium husk is that it makes me avoid blood sugar drops, and resist sweets and carbs better than without consuming it. I just love it, it made me lose 8 pounds so far in one month 🙂
