Get Jealous and Lose Weight!

She’s a good friend of yours, you love her so much, you’ve been in a good relationship with her for years, you know she would support you whenever you need help, you trust each other, and you don’t mind spending the whole day with her.

But something inside gets disturbed whenever you see her, something that makes you want to keep away from her every now and then, it makes you feel nervous, uncomfortable, exhausted, and down sometimes.

And in a moment of peace and honesty, you realized that you’re jealous of her nice fit body!

She takes care of herself, she eats healthy food, she trains 3 times a week, she works  hard to keep herself on track, she dresses nicely and all clothes look fantastic on her, she walks confidently between people, fears nothing, she looks happy, fresh, and satisfied with the way she looks,  and you’ve got nothing in hand except wishing to be like her.

The effect of Jealousy on ourselves

According to Wikipedia the definition of Jealousy is:

“Jealousy is an emotion, and the word typically refers to the thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, concern, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of status or something of great personal value, particularly in reference to a human connection. Jealousy often consists of a combination of emotions such as anger, resentment, inadequacy, helplessness and disgust.”

So it’s a combination of negative feelings, it’s a painful feeling experience, it’s an inner war within yourself, it leaves you unhappy and unsatisfied.

And physically, jealousy is a real enemy to your body, it weakens your immune system, increases blood pressure, stimulates the release of stress hormones, and affects your heart health.

But at the same time, jealousy creates a great power in you, a power that wasn’t there before, the determination to do something for yourself to feel better, a power that makes you do anything to get rid of those killing feelings, so why don’t you use it to make your dream comes true.

Turn Your Jealousy into Inspiration

Despite the painful emotional feelings we get when we feel jealous, remember that you can turn these challenges into inspiration, if that jealousy has affected you that much, that means you can make an effort to change yourself to the image you have in your mind using that power of jealousy, you can turn that negative emotions into positive ones, instead of thinking that someone else has a valuable thing that you don’t have, you can start setting your plans to get that missing thing with the power of jealousy.

If you’re jealous of your friend’s body, be smart and simply ask your friend some details, like what diet she follows to lose weight, what her exercise schedule is, what she does to keep herself motivated and on track, follow her steps, make her your motivation whenever you feel down, remember that dieters around the globe search millions of website pages daily, to find a way to keep themselves motivated to reach their weight loss goals, you have your motivation ready in front of you, just call your friend whenever you feel down, meet her, get jealous again, and get motivated! Let that fire inside you do the work.

  1. Being jealous is such a negative emotion and can cause you so much unhappiness. I like your suggestion about asking the friend how she keeps herself healthy. If people worried less about what other people are doing and focused on the positive things going on in their lives they would not feel the need to be jealous. Good post.

  2. I love this post. I think if we look at someone else and feel jealous as in “I wish I could wear jeans like that” that means that’s what we want and we should harness that jealousy and use it as motivation to go after it. It’s when we get jealous and drown our sorrows in a bag of cheetos that we’re in trouble.

  3. It’s an interesting concept and one which I think could work. It’s got me thinking about my own jealousy and where that stems from. Certainly turning that around to make a positive impact on my life is massive. Thank you and I look forward to reading more.
