Mind Control

Does hypnosis help weight loss?

Hypnosis is not rocket science, it’s not scary nor complicated, on the contrary, it’s simple, touching, and warm, it is the most widely known method of mind control, it does a real effect on you and your behaviors, because it can control the most powerful unit in your brain, the unit which includes all your actions, thoughts, and your interests, it can help you turn your negative habits into positive ones, and it can help you feel better about yourself.

So how can hypnosis help us lose weight? Let’s figure this out!

What is hypnosis?

According to Wikipedia, hypnosis are defined as follows:

“Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestion. The term may also refer to an art, skill, or act of inducing hypnosis”

So hypnosis makes it easier to break the barrier between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind,

as a result, the hypnotic skips the conscious mind and communicates with the subconscious mind directly, which puts the person in a state of concentration and relaxation, where he’s more responsive to messages and suggestions given to him, it’s not like sleep, where you totally lose control of yourself, it’s just like a daydreaming with full control on yourself.

Your subconscious mind is the key, it handles all operations take place in your brain, it controls things that you do automatically every day, like driving, cleaning, breathing, heart beating, thinking, and taking decisions, and here where changes take place in your personality and behavior, but that can’t be done without hypnosis, because we need to move the conscious mind- which makes a continuous  filtration to everything received from the surrounding- out of the way, to reach to the subconscious mind, where freedom and imagination have no limits, that time only it is possible to deliver messages and suggestions to your brain, and start making real changes.

Our weight problems are a combination of wrong eating habits

Why scientists thought of hypnosis as a solution for weight loss problems? Simply because our unhealthy eating habits, our wrong view to eating food, and our lack of self-esteem and confidence towards our body image, all of which are present in the brain.

We don’t eat only when we’re hungry, we eat when we’re feeling stressed, bored, frustrated, overwhelmed, and excited, we chose the wrong act to respond to our diverse feelings, and that thing needs to be fixed in the brain itself.

When we celebrate an occasion we eat, when we have a party, we eat, when we have a funeral we eat, when we watch a movie at the cinema or watch a match at home, we eat, and we link every occasion to a certain type of food, for example, we link watching tv with friends with nibbling on chips and dip, with too much soda, we link going to the movies with eating a big pack of popcorn, that we finish fast without our consciousness.

These linkages are caused by our society, they became obligatory in our brains, and getting rid of these habits, needs a big effort to control yourself, or simply go for hypnosis.

Hypnosis and Weight Loss

Hypnosis is a simple way to reach your dream body, it is an easy path for a successful noticeable weight loss and exercising.

As we mentioned above, hypnosis can make drastic changes for human brains, the hypnotherapist can communicate with the subconscious mind and deliver him positive suggestions, and when we talk about hypnosis for weight loss, those messages should be about healthy eating habits, controlling your appetite, eating only when you feel hungry, and getting motivated to exercise.

Hypnosis helps people fix the psychological issues causing them to overeat, crave high calorie sugary food, binge at night, eat without conscious, and hate to workout, it stimulates the inner mind to be more committed to healthy eating habits, and choosing the right food to eat throughout the day, it encourages sticking to exercising and improves self confidence, it changes the way people think about themselves, about food, and about exercise.

Hypnosis simply teaches people how to deal with their emotions and stress away from food and eating, and teaches them how to be more relaxed, and how to avoid stress.

And for super results, always visualize yourself with the body image you really want, visualize looking good in a certain outfit, walking confidently between people, imagine your friends asking you what the heck you did to lose weight! Keep these thoughts on your mind every now and then, so your subconscious mind will automatically start working hard to fulfill that image, and you’ll end up with a great result.

Repetition is the key

Hypnosis is not a single treatment session, you can’t get the best out of it when done once or twice, it is a multiple session treatment, as you have to keep communicating with the subconscious mind continuously to get the result you’re looking for, otherwise the brain will simply forget those messages given to it in the last session, and no development will take place.

Gradually, session after session, you will realize that you’re changing for a better person, with better decisions and choices, and a better self-esteem, you’ll choose your food carefully, and adhere more to your workout plan, you will see the pounds drop easily, easier than just dieting without the involvement of your brain.

Where to get hypnotized

You can choose to attend one to one hypnosis sessions in one of the hypnosis centers, you can find many good hypnotherapists who can help you lose weight, but if you’re on a budget; then online hypnosis is your good choice.

There are plenty of hypnotherapists on the internet selling their sessions online, they save your money and time, you can – while you’re at home- get comfortable on your couch, put on your headphones, get relaxed, and listen to those sessions.

But before that, you have to believe that hypnosis is able to make you lose weight, if the brain is not convinced with the idea, it will keep resisting all the messages delivered to it through the sessions, and those sessions would become useless and time wasting.

You can repeat your sessions daily, which is highly recommended, you can choose the most convenient time for you to listen to those sessions, it’s much easier than setting an appointment with a hypnotherapist for one to one sessions.

I found an article for a fat woman who lost 50 pounds only using weight loss hypnosis, which made me certain that hypnosis can make great changes, and when I practiced hypnosis, it was really a nice experience, the hypnosis itself made me feel super relaxed and light, I enjoyed every second of it, but I was skeptical about it’s results, but later, I found myself choosing fruits to dessert when I used to crave something sweet, and felt uncomfortable laying down on the couch the whole day, I began feeling more motivated to exercise, at least to walk, and If I was more committed to those sessions, I would definitely feel different about the food which I used to get addicted to.

So If you choose to try hypnosis to lose weight, and you were committed and found results, please share us your story, to help others lose weight gently and away from stress.

  1. Hey Rawan,

I haven’t read an article more comprehensive about hypnosis.

Since our subconscious mind is the creator of our entire reality, it does make sense that if we keep on impressing upon it the right ideas, our reality will change as well.

I don’t need to lose weight but I believe that hypnosis could be used to manage and adjust any other aspect of one’s life.

    What are your thoughts?

    1. Thanks Xaric for your valuable comment.

Yes you’re right, hypnosis is used to treat and improve many other aspects of life, such as Smoking, Self Confidence, reduce addictions, phobias, sleeplessness, and many other diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, and cancers.

Once our subconscious mind is treated the whole body responses and gets treated, it is simply the control panel of the whole body.

And one more thing I have to tell you, you’re lucky that you don’t need to lose weight 🙂

  2. Hi Rawan,
As I’ve read your blog post, it seems to be well organized and you have tried to put the subjects from the beginning to the end in a way to persuade the reader to believe that hypnosis can be effective for weight loss, but when it comes to the point that you want to talk about the methods you have provided the stuff for doing the hypnosis in a way that for a person like me who is not a professioanal in this field this sort of thinking comes up that hypnosis is not that professional job and everyone who has the CD can also do it. However I think it’s not that easy to affect a person for long term just by listening to the hypnosis CD. This conduct to a sort of indirect marketing or a sort of promotion at the end, doesn’t it?
The second point is about the repetition point and it seems that you want to talk about changing the mindset. If that is true, so there are many other ways to change mindset over a period of time such as reading related books, talking to people who have the same sort of mindset or in a higher level talking to people who have been accomplished in weight loss by changing their mindset.
Anyway, I think if someone looks for a new way to experience weight loss in a different way, your blog post can show them a new way and then they can decide if it’s working for them or not.
    Best wishes.

    1. Hello Hadi,

Thanks for your detailed opinion I really appreciate your time.
Regarding the methods all I want to show is that hypnosis doesn’t need to get committed to a set of one on one sessions, especially that most people nowadays don’t have enough time for such sessions, and instead they can perform hypnosis at home, by listening to hypnosis audios (which I will be recommending soon), just to make simple to get hypnotized at their convenience.
Regarding the repetition, without repeating the weight loss hypnosis over and over again, the results of hypnosis on our subconscious minds will not lead to the results we’re looking for, and what you said is true about talking to people who have changed their mindset, and know more about their experience, but it should be accompanying the repetition of hypnosis sessions.

Let me know if you have more comments please 🙂

  3. My sister-in-law has been battling weight issues for almost her whole life (she’s 59 now) and had tried every diet in the book with no good results. recently she started seeing a hypnotist which we thought was kind of quacky but she’s actually lost 30 pounds in 5 months. I wasn’t a believer before but I’ve changed my opinion on this.
